![]() ![]() If there are two “HID-compliant game controller” devices → If disabling one device leads to the disappearance of the other from the screen after the subsequent refresh, then the device you disabled was NOT the DS4Windows device, and as such you should re-enable that device and instead refresh (disable → reenable) the OTHER device. With the DS4Windows window open and visible from another part of your screen, Right click, Disable and Re-Enable the HID-compliant game controller device which is bound to DS4Windows. You may see two of them since DS4Windows makes another one, but that’s OK. In Device Manager, Open “Human Interface Devices” and look for the “HID-compliant game controller” device listed. Using the Windows Search bar, search for “Device Manager”. Make sure “Hide DS4 Controller” Is UN-CHECKED In the “Settings” tab of DS4 Windows. Have the controller connected to PC through DS4Windows. Please do everything you can to fix this problem, it’s infuriating.Įveryone’s situation is a little different, but this was my solution: In the mean time, it’s at least good news that the problem is being investigated, however I’m unhappy that this problem existed in the demo and has persisted this far into the life of the full game. It’s a little in-depth, it involves editing files in your registry. Please let me know if this works for anyone else. I play a ton of Rocket League and I plug straight into my PC, no Input Mapper or other external compatibility software, so FH4 is the only game that I’ve had to use Input Mapper with. Input Mapper wouldn’t detect a controller, and my computer itself wouldn’t detect anything either. It didn’t matter if I had Input Mapper running or not. But as soon as I exited the game, my PC refused to ever acknowledge that a controller was connected to it. No weird glitchiness in the controls, everything was detecting properly. Everything was working as it should have been. I have a sort of “half-fix” for Input Mapper in that the first time I did this, it worked. I went so far as to make sure it wasn’t opening on startup. Steam has been open, and it hasn’t been open. DS4Windows doesn’t work for me, including using the trick of selecting “Hide DS4” or only selecting it when the game is already running. It also constantly gives me the error saying that it can’t run the controller in “exclusive mode” even when the option is selected. The main thing that seemed to work for everyone else, connecting the controller via Bluetooth, won’t work for me because for some reason when I’m connected via Bluetooth, Input Mapper refuses to recognize that a controller is connected. Alright, so absolutely none of the fixes suggested in here have worked for me. ![]()
